Job Description

About the job

Kafene is a leading point-of-sale financing partner dedicated to empowering flexible ownership solutions for underserved customers nationwide. By enabling our retail partners to offer flexible lease-to-own (LTO) purchase options for prime and nonprime consumers, Kafene helps merchants grow their customer base and meet the growing demand for furniture, appliances, electronics, tires, and other durable goods. Utilizing more than 20,000 data inputs in tandem with cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies, our platform creates a best-in-class experience for both merchants and customers. With over $150 million in sales since inception, we are rapidly growing and looking to expand our team.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic workplace culture that values collaboration, innovation, and mutual support. Our team of 100 is spread between a NYC headquarters, a Wilmington office, and fully remote staff across the country. Last year, we were selected for Built In Startups to Watch and Forbes' Best Startup Employers .

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure merchants are equipped to grow their businesses and operate seamlessly with Kafene’s platforms.
  • Build relationships with merchants during customer escalations to retain business, and proactively reach out to inactive merchants to regain their business.
  • Assess whether new features, enhancements, and processes are providing the expected benefits to our Merchants.
  • Manage assigned merchant systems, databases, and functions.
  • Be a fierce advocate for our Merchant’s experience, working directly with them to uncover pain points, and prioritize them based on the level of impact.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Sales, Rev Ops, and Merchant Support, to ensure seamless Merchant operations.
  • Participate in the merchant onboarding process, working closely with the Sales team to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in Consulting, Strategy, Business Development, Customer Success, and/or Operations.
  • You’re highly analytical and love taking a data-driven approach to solutions and can independently translate high-level goals into actionable go-forward plans.
  • You’re a strong communicator and thrive in environments where you need to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • You have a bias towards action and can adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • You’re naturally curious and will always seek to refine processes and identify opportunities to mitigate risk.
  • You are proficient in spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate fluency and comprehension in both formal and informal contexts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a high-growth or early-stage start-up environment.
  • Prior experience with Hubspot CRM expertise and Sigma Reporting
  • Prior experience in FinTech or Lease to Own.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: Earn a competitive base salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, along with monthly commission potential.
  • Healthcare: We prioritize your well-being by covering 80% of medical, dental, and vision insurance costs. Additionally, we contribute 75% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents.
  • Retirement Benefits: Begin planning for your future from day one with our 401k plan.
  • Paid Time Off: We understand the importance of work-life balance. That's why we offer flexible paid time off days starting from day one of your employment.
